Lenovo’s Modular ThinkCentre II Shrinks Bezel, Adds Speaker
LAS VEGAS — In its continuing efforts to ease the costs
that large enterprise businesses face when maintaining a fleet of
computers, Lenovo has revealed the latest edition of its
upgrade-friendly desktop PCs at CES 2016. Launching in April, the
ThinkCentre II is the 2nd generation of Lenovo's modular All-in-One
(AIO) desktops, which enable you to upgrade the monitor or internal PC,
depending on your needs.
Lenovo's ThinkCentre II
Unlike the original 23-inch ThinkCentre, these new AIOs will come in
22- and 24-inch versions, sport anti-glare displays and have an option
for touch input. Lenovo has also improved upon its first generation
ThinkCentres with a much smaller bezel that makes for a nearly
borderless display — 21.5-inch and 23.8-inch LCD screens, respectively —
and an internal speaker, so that users don't need to rely on the
headphone jack.

Both the 22-inch and 24-inch models have 1920 x 1080 displays, 2 USB 3.0 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports and 1 mini USB 2.0 port. Both models also have Kensington security ports to lock the CPU into the monitor.

Companies can choose between Windows and Chrome OS, as the
ThinkCentre II is compatible with Lenovo’s 2nd and 3rd generation Tiny
PCs, Chromeboxes and Thin Clients. Pricing is not yet available for the
ThinkCentre II models, but the original ThinkCentre displays start at
$279.
The highly durable Lenovo ThinkCentre M900 Tiny, which Tom's Guide saw at IFA 2015, is one example of the modular PCs that can be slotted into the ThinkCentre II displays. It adds a new 6th-generation Intel Skylake CPU, 8GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive to the ThinkCentre, and Lenovo currently lists the PC as "Coming Soon..." Other compatible modular CPUs from Lenovo start at $359, with processors that range from the Intel Pentium Brasswell to 4th generation Intel Core i7 chipsets.
